Equipment Specialist

 

Your dive equipment represents a substantial investment. It makes sense to learn how to get the best return on that investment. This is what the PADI Equipment Specialist Course is all about. You learn:

• Routine preparation and maintenance procedures you can perform before and after every dive that will prolong equipment life and reduce the need for professional service.
• The best ways to transport and store your equipment and, thus, reduce the risk of damage.
• What happens to regulators, BCDs and tanks when you bring them in for annual service or inspection.
• Emergency in-field repairs you can perform that may help save a dive or a trip — including wetsuit repairs (a must for every diver).
• The latest developments in equipment technology, including BCDs, regulators, dive computers and more.

 

Who Can Learn? To take this course, you must be certified to the PADI Open Water Diver level (or equivalent).

 

What is Involved? This course involves self study (reading the Equipment section of the PADI Encyclopedia or Recreational Diving prior to class). The class itself involves demonstrations and discussions of equipment-related issues.

 

Where Do You Learn? All class activities take place at Just Add Water. There are no pool sessions or open-water training dives.

 

When Do You Learn? Course dates include: Date Starts Ends Saturday, October 25 9:00 am Same Day

 

How Much? The course fee is $100 per student.

 

Required Materials: Students are responsible for purchasing the PADI Encyclopedia or Recreational Diving (available at Just Add Water).
