Scuba Camp for Older Kids and Teens

 

This week-long program provides older children and younger teens (age 10-14) with the opportunity to complete the academic and confined-water requirements for PADI Junior Scuba Diver certification in a Summer Day Camp atmosphere.

At the end of the program, students have the option to take part in any of Just Add Water’s local open-water training dive weekends to complete the requirements for Junior Open Water Diver certification, or they can complete this training on one of our many group dive vacations, or at a resort destination of their own choosing. Just Add Water supplies all the necessary training materials and dive equipment.

Note: For graduates of past years’ scuba camps, as well as those who complete this year’s program, Just Add Water is offering a special “Kids Only” Advanced Open Diver program. See our Advanced course page for dates.

 

Who Can Learn? his course has two prerequisites: Be at least 10 years of age (but no older than 14). Be able to either answer No to all of the questions on the PADI/RSTC Medical History form, or secure a physician’s approval prior to taking part.

 

What is Involved? This course involves: Approximately eight hours of self study (for which parental oversight and assistance is important). Classroom sessions, during which students will review the homework and discuss upcoming pool dives and skills. Five pool dives, in which students will see critical skills demonstrated, then have the opportunity to practice under instructor supervision. For certification, students must also make four open-water training dives with one of our instructor.

 

Where Can You Learn? Classroom sessions take place at either Just Add Water or the facilities listed below. Open-water training dives take place at White Star Quarry.

How Much? The course fee is $295 per student. Students are responsible for transportation, lodging, meals, dive site admission, and must supply the items listed below.

 

Required Equipment: Participants will need to supply: Swim suit. Towel (We provide everything else.)
