North Carolina’s
“Graveyard of the Atlantic”

June 26-29, 2008

In magazines such as Scuba Diving, North Carolina consistently ranks as North America’s top dive destination, winning awards for Top Marine Life, Top Big Animal Encounters and Top Wreck Diving. It also ranks high in areas such as Top Value and Top Advanced Diving.    Wreck Divers
Wreck    Known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic, the area is home to numerous World War II wrecks — victims of enemy vessels such as U-352, which now also rests on the bottom. You can also dive a World War I cruiser, ocean liners and fish trawlers. The region also has several artificial reefs, with ships and aircraft creating new fish habitats and fresh diving experiences.

During summer, the passing Gulf Stream brings temperatures in the low 80's and visibility often over 100 feet. There are large schools of pelagic fish, tropical fish, corals and a wreck (the Papoose) that is one of the premier shark dives in North America!    Boat
Coral    Our June trip includes lodging, tank rental and three days of two-tank boat dives. Due to the depth, Advanced Open Water certification is essential.
